Massachusetts Released Inmates is a private resource with no connection to a government office, sheriff, jail, court, or correctional agency. It is not a consumer reporting agency, and neither the site nor a search partner may be used here for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Nature of the Service
Massachusetts Released Inmates organizes public links and general explanations that help visitors identify the office responsible for a custody or release record. It does not host an official jail roster, court docket, parole file, probation file, or MA DOC record. Nothing posted here can release a person, change a sentence, post bail, register a notification, or file a request with an agency.
Massachusetts custody is divided among local police, county sheriffs, the Massachusetts Department of Correction, courts, the Parole Board, federal authorities, and other record holders. A result from one system addresses only that system. Records sought under the Massachusetts Public Records Law, M.G.L. c. 66, ยง 10, must be requested from the agency that maintains them and remain subject to applicable exemptions and access rules.
Acceptable Use Rules
You may use the site only for lawful, purpose-neutral record access, such as checking a custody source, finding an official records channel, or locating a notification service. Use must respect other people, agency systems, and the operation of this site.
- Do not break a law or encourage another person to do so.
- Do not stalk, harass, threaten, impersonate, or harm anyone.
- Do not use information for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another eligibility decision.
- Do not attempt to enter restricted accounts, systems, files, or site areas.
- Do not scrape, crawl, copy, or collect site material through an automated process.
- Do not disrupt the site, its tools, its security, or another visitor's access.
We may investigate suspected misuse and cooperate with a lawful request or order. Permission to visit the site does not grant a right to access a government record that an agency may lawfully restrict.
No Consumer Reports
Massachusetts Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, background checks, or eligibility screening products. Search and advertising partners do not provide an FCRA service through this site. You agree that neither site content nor a result reached here will be used for an FCRA-covered purpose.
- An employment or hiring decision
- A tenant or housing decision
- A credit, lending, or insurance decision
- A licensing or benefits eligibility decision covered by law
- Any other purpose regulated by the FCRA
Official public access does not turn a record into a consumer report or make every use lawful. If a proposed use is regulated, obtain an appropriate compliant service and legal guidance elsewhere.
Outside Websites
Links can lead to Massachusetts agencies, county sites, court tools, MA DOC and VINE, BOP, ICE, legal materials, or independent search providers. A link is offered for routing and does not endorse the destination, its operator, or any result it returns. We do not control an outside site's content, accuracy, security, privacy practices, availability, or later changes. Review the destination's own terms and privacy policy before sending a query or personal information.
No Warranties
Massachusetts Released Inmates and all content, links, and tools are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim express and implied warranties. No promise is made about:
- Accuracy, completeness, or currency
- Continuous availability
- Freedom from errors, bugs, or security flaws
- The scope or completeness of a partner's search results
Custody status, court events, supervision, and agency records can change. A person leaving one Massachusetts custodian may have transferred to another. No text or result on this site is an official statement from a sheriff, police department, MA DOC, court, Parole Board, BOP, ICE, or any other public body. Confirm material facts with the office that created the record.
Limits on Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Massachusetts Released Inmates, its operators, contributors, and service partners will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or other damages arising from access to the site, inability to access it, reliance on content, an outside link, a search result, or the conduct of another user. This limitation applies even if the possibility of loss was known. Rights that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Massachusetts Released Inmates, its operators, contributors, and service partners from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site, misuse of information, violation of another person's rights, or breach of these terms. This duty applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Intellectual Property
Original site text, organization, graphics, logos, and code belong to Massachusetts Released Inmates or the party that licensed them for use. Government records and third-party materials remain subject to their own ownership and use rules. These terms do not transfer intellectual-property rights to a visitor. Site material may not be copied, republished, altered, sold, or distributed without prior written permission unless the law clearly allows that use.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms when site features, legal requirements, or operating practices change. The revised text becomes effective when it is posted here unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms, so review this page from time to time.
Ending Access
We may suspend, limit, or revoke access to all or part of the site at any time, with or without notice. That action may follow a suspected violation, a security concern, a legal request, service maintenance, or another operational reason. Provisions that by their nature should continue after access ends will remain in effect.
Massachusetts Law
The laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any claim must be brought in a state or federal court that has proper subject-matter and personal jurisdiction in Massachusetts. Nothing here changes a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
Severability
If a court finds one provision invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the rest of these terms will remain effective. The affected provision will be limited or revised only to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable while preserving its intended purpose.
Questions
Questions about the wording of these terms may be sent through the Get in Touch page. That contact route is not an agency records office and cannot obtain a custody file, confirm release, or change an official record.
