Legal Disclaimer

Massachusetts Released Inmates is a privately operated reference site that helps readers locate official custody, release, supervision, and court resources across the Commonwealth. It is not a government office and has no affiliation with MA DOC, the Massachusetts Parole Board, any sheriff, police department, jail, house of correction, court, or federal agency. Information is offered for general reference only. Official confirmation must come from the agency or court that created and maintains the relevant record.

FCRA restriction: Massachusetts Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Information here or returned by a linked third-party tool may not be used for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

Record Accuracy and Timing

Custody systems, court dockets, hearing calendars, office details, and release records can change without notice. A roster or locator may update after the underlying event, contain an error, omit a restricted record, or cover only one agency. Massachusetts VINE participation, for example, does not turn the service into a historical archive for every county jail. No representation or warranty is made that any name, status, date, address, fee, phone number, or other detail is current, complete, or correct.

Release, transfer, and discharge are not interchangeable. A person may leave a sheriff's jail for MA DOC, move from MA DOC to another authority, or receive a favorable parole decision before physical release occurs. An arrest, booking entry, custody record, or photograph also does not prove guilt. Verify the event and its meaning with the office that created the record. Call the responsible agency before visiting a facility, mailing a request, or sending money.

No Legal Advice

Nothing published here is legal advice, a legal opinion, or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney. General descriptions of Massachusetts statutes, court access, public-record procedures, parole, probation, or sentence terms may not fit a particular case. Deadlines, rights, and available remedies depend on the facts and governing law. Anyone who needs legal guidance should consult a qualified lawyer rather than rely on a website summary.

Independent Search Providers

Some pages contain search boxes or services supplied by independent providers. Those tools operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Massachusetts Released Inmates does not control the records they return, the order or form of results, any price they charge, their availability, or their handling of submitted data. Readers should review a provider's policies before using its service and avoid submitting personal identifiers that are not needed for the chosen search.

Responsibility for External Links

Outbound links may lead to MA DOC and Parole Board pages, sheriff or police resources, court systems, federal locators, county reference sites, or other independent services. A link is supplied for navigation and does not imply endorsement, control, or responsibility. External pages may move, become unavailable, change their rules, or display information that is incomplete. Their content, security, accessibility, pricing, accuracy, and privacy practices remain the responsibility of their operators.

No Records Hosted Here

Massachusetts Released Inmates does not host or maintain jail rosters, inmate files, booking photographs, warrant information, parole or probation files, court records, or official release records. It cannot alter an agency record, confirm that someone is free from every form of custody, issue a discharge document, or process a public-record request on behalf of an office.

State-prison records must be confirmed with the Massachusetts Department of Correction. County jail and house-of-correction records belong with the relevant sheriff, while temporary-lockup records may belong with the police department. The Parole Board and supervising Trial Court probation department maintain their respective supervision records. Court clerks hold official court files, and BOP or ICE controls records within its own federal custody system. Each agency's answer is limited to the authority and records it holds.
